Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of affordablehomeassistance.com, free accounts, our newsletter, the free Fair Quote Checklist and other downloads, and Quote Check. The site is operated by Rip & Ride LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. Information, not professional advice

Our guides, tools, downloads, emails and Quote Check reviews are general information to help you understand home repair quotes and options. They are not legal, financial, insurance, engineering or construction advice, an inspection, or an appraisal. Prices vary widely by region, season and job. We are not a contractor, lender, insurer or government agency, we don't recommend or endorse specific contractors, and we don't receive referral fees. Program details on our site come from public sources and can change; confirm eligibility and terms with each program.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account or make a purchase.

3. Free accounts

• Accounts are free. You need a verified email address and a password.
• Keep your password confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account; tell us promptly if you think it's been misused.
• You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or are used to abuse the site.
• Account holders receive account emails (verification and password resets), plus one email when Quote Check is available only if they ask for it. The newsletter is separate and optional.

4. Quote Check

• When available, each Quote Check is a one-time purchase at the price shown on the Quote Check page in US dollars, paid in advance through our third-party payment provider.
• You upload a contractor quote and answer a short questionnaire. We send a written review within the stated time, based only on the documents and information you provide. We don't visit your home and can't see conditions behind walls or on the roof.
• Price ranges in a review are estimates for your region based on public cost data and our reviewers' experience. They are not a guarantee of what any contractor will charge.
• Decisions about hiring, negotiating and signing are yours. We don't contact contractors on your behalf.
• Only upload quotes you have the right to share. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.

4a. Downloads

The free Fair Quote Checklist and member downloads are free for personal use. You may print and share them with your household, but not resell or republish them.

5. Email

We send the newsletter only to people who sign up and confirm by email, and you can unsubscribe at any time. See our Email and Anti-Spam Policy.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the site to break the law, sign up other people without their permission, submit false information, interfere with the site's security or operation, scrape it in bulk, or send spam or harmful content through our forms.

7. Our content

The site's text, guides, downloads and Quote Check reviews are owned by Rip & Ride LLC and protected by copyright. You may print or save pages for personal, non-commercial use. Please link to us rather than copying our content.

8. Links to other sites

We may link to other websites, such as government agencies, licensing boards and consumer protection resources. We're not responsible for their content or practices.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't guarantee any particular price, savings, program approval or outcome.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rip & Ride LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, arising from your use of the site, guides or Quote Check, or from decisions you make based on them. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or Quote Check is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Rip & Ride LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless the law of your state of residence gives you the right to bring it where you live.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change is material, we'll notify members by email. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
